Teen Art Connect Internship

ADMISSION: Free for teens

The Teen Art Connect (TAC) Internship brings together high school students from diverse backgrounds for a year-round paid internship. Teens work and learn together in a world-class arts environment to experience art, explore identity and culture, produce and lead meaningful public events and programs, and develop professional skills. All high school students entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in fall 2024 are eligible to apply. We value diversity, including diversity in culture, race and ethnicity, and gender expression. 

Job Description

TAC interns provide Museum visitors with fun and educational experiences and help make The CJM a vibrant place for visitors of all ages. TAC interns will: 

  • Learn about The Museum’s exhibitions and architecture 
  • Learn about jobs and careers in the arts 
  • Greet the public and provide information about The Museum 
  • Lead architecture and exhibition tours 
  • Lead activities and engage with visitors at programs and events 
  • Create meaningful connections with peers and mentors

REQUIREMENTS

Requirements to apply for a TAC internship are:

  • Must be a high school student entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in the fall
  • Interest in many of the following: art, culture, museums, architecture, Judaism, intercultural dialogue, education, customer service, public speaking, leadership, event planning, marketing, community engagement 
  • Must be reliable, enthusiastic, friendly, curious, and open-minded
  • Ability to communicate via and regularly check email and/or text messages on a daily basis
  • Must be willing to commit to the following: 
    June: Summer training intensive (10am–4pm, Monday–Friday)
    July–August: Two trainings per month (Sundays, 3–5:30pm)
    August–May: Two trainings per month (Sundays, 3–5:30pm) and between two and six hours of work per week
Compensation and Benefits

TACs are paid minimum wage for all trainings and work hours completed. Additional benefits include:

  • Free Membership to The CJM
  • Free admission to events, including films, performances, and artist talks

  • Plan, promote, and assist with events and workshops for teens
