Join The CJM and guest presenter Kristen Hallahan from the Institute for Curriculum Services (ICS) for a virtual workshop exploring antisemitism’s roots, evolution, and contemporary manifestations. Antisemitism, like all forms of hate, has experienced a distinct rise in the past several years, but can sometimes be difficult to spot without a solid foundation in its myriad expressions. This workshop is designed for educators seeking a deeper understanding of antisemitism to safeguard against it in their classrooms and school communities. Leave with tools to uplift Jewish voices in the classroom, better recognize antisemitism, and fight bias more broadly.

The Institute for Curriculum Services (ICS) is dedicated to improving the accuracy of K-12 instruction and instructional materials on Jews, Judaism, and Jewish history. They do this by developing standards-aligned curricula and providing professional development to teachers from around the country. ICS believes that an excellent education is essential to building a strong civil society, where all people can flourish.
Kristen Hallahan presents at conferences and facilitates professional learning for teachers and other education professionals within the Western Region of the United States. Before working with ICS, Hallahan was a high school English teacher for fourteen years. She has taught in multiple states as well as internationally, including time in Dubai and Bogotá, Colombia. Most recently, she worked for Lakewood High School in Colorado. Hallahan has a B.A. in Secondary English Education from Clemson University, and an M.A. in Secondary Education from The University of Alabama International Program.
