About the Program
CJM Access presents a two-hour Kidpower Parent-Child Workshop. In this participatory workshop, families of children with disabilities aged 6-12 years old are invited to practice using “People Safety” skills in everyday life situations using role-play, games, and storytelling. This program gives parents, teachers and other caregivers the opportunity to learn the Kidpower approach for introducing and practicing self-protection skills with young people with disabilities. Following the workshop, families are invited to join a free hands-on art-making workshop in the education center classrooms.
Lead support for Family Programs at the Contemporary Jewish Museum is provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Presenting partners include The Horace W. Goldsmith Foundation and Target. Major support comes from Bank of America. Additional support is provided by Valerie and Norman Snart, in honor of Waldo and Helen Blumberg.
