About the Program
As part of its ongoing effort to explore the acoustic space in the Yud gallery, the CJM will partner with Mills College for three music performances this fall starting with a Sound Art Show on October 29.
Upcoming performances:
Thursday December 10; 7PM
Ugnayan and Radio Diffusion Sound Art
The final fall collaboration by Mills College and the CJM offers a lecture and musical demonstration by Chris Brown on Filipino composer José Maceda's 1972 work Ugnayan, for 22 radio stations, which he is reviving in collaboration with the Center for Ethnomusicology at the University of the Philippines.
Brown will also discuss Ugnayan's influence on Transmissions, a series of site-specific radio performances he created in collaboration with composer Guillermo Galindo during the last decade.
