About the Program
Part literary reading, part comedy show, part game show, Literary Death Match brings together four of today’s finest writers to compete in an edge-of-your-seat read-off critiqued by celebrity judges including best-selling author Ayelet Waldman judging literary merit, Peabody award-winning writer, director and producer Richard Kramer (My So-called Life, Tales of the City), judging performance, and for this special CJM episode comedian Josh Kornbluth (the Mathematics of Change) judging Jewish intangibles. The evening concludes with a slapstick showdown to decide the night’s ultimate champion.
This all-Jew review will feature four writers— reading their own work for seven minutes or less — including Randall Babtkis, Zarina Zabrisky, Suzanne Kleid and Jason Turbow.
